A Message from the President - Sarah Fisk
The hard work of key board members, our two
superb conductors, our dedicated musicians, and soloists, and your wonderful
support came together to give us our BEST YEAR EVER! Now we can expand our
goals. Last February 11, with corporate support, we held our first school
concert at Birmingham High School in Van Nuys. The same program was then
played again at Liberty Hall on February 13. We plan to do four such dual
concerts this new season. Taking a well rehearsed program to the students
at four high school as a FREE concert. In addition, we plan a tutorial
program for four to eight music students per school who will receive individual
instruction from an NVSO musician. They will also rehearse with the
orchestra and if they are advanced enough will be invited to play in a future
concert. This could be a tremendous experience for an aspiring young
musician. For many of these students this may be the only opportunity to
hear a symphony orchestra, much less play in one. The lack of music
programs in the schools is appalling and we feel compelled to offer even this
little bit of help. You will hear more about this program later. So
more than ever we need your support. If you would like to join the cause,
either with funding or by volunteering your time and or skills, please call
me. (818)

Thank You Again for Your Support!
Message from Conductor Bethany Pflueger
Welcome to our new season! We invite you to enjoy the wonderful music and the talented musicians you will find here. This continues to be an exciting time for this orchestra. You will find old friends like, Rossini, Debussy, Brahms, Khachaturian, Mozart and many outstanding soloists from all over the Los Angels area. We will also feature children's choirs, and sing alongs for the performer in you. The excellent concerts that this orchestra brings to our community are not to be missed. We look forward to having you with us as we, once again, make beautiful music together.
A Message from Conductor, Mikael Avetisyan
It is a pleasure and a privilege to be a part of the New Valley Symphony Orchestra. I look forward to the coming season. It is very rewarding to work with the musicians who work hard to make the best music each performance. Last season we introduced a few Armenian works with ethnic instruments in our concerts. The audience response was very favorable. There is a rich culture with this music and I hope to continue to offer pieces to compliment the classical repertoire we all know and love. I know you will enjoy the coming season of music, as I will.
